MaleSurvivor was my main collaborator. They acted as a liaison between me and the survey participants, ensuring that the research was ethical. I even completed an IRB process with them separate from the one instituted at UNCG. This collaborative work furthered my goal of making sexual abuse less of a taboo in society and to portray librarianship as a field that responds to the emotional needs of all people, even those with severe traumas.

Special Project: Archival Work in The Randolph Room | UNCG Alternative Spring Break Project
-
With a student named Della Owens, the two of us explored the papers of a WWI serviceman named Ralph Whatley from the area around Asheboro. The papers were part of The Randolph Room with The Randolph County Public Libraries. Della and I worked closely throughout the week and by merging our talents and our different approaches to information access, I witnessed an expansion in my understanding of librarianship and archival work.
