This features responses to modules involved in educating professionals on how to incorporate the Universal Design for Learning Framework in their instruction.
The video tutorial educates users in the best ways to utilize the features of an assistive technology called Read&Write. The program is a literacy and language tool that features functions such as text-to-speech and voice-to-text.
This assignment required me to construct a hypothetical Professional Development Workshop in which I guide academic librarians in how to utilize assistive technology tools. The assistive technologies that I cover are Read&Write, ZoomText, and JAWS Screen Reader--resources for individuals with vision impairments or learning-related vision issues. As participants utilize these tools, they evaluate each program and consider how to integrate them into their own library instruction procedures.
This is a presentation for my Professional Development Workshop in which I guide academic librarians in how to utilize assistive technology tools. The assistive technologies that I cover are Read&Write, ZoomText, and JAWS Screen Reader--resources for individuals with vision impairments or learning-related vision issues. As participants utilize these tools, they evaluate each program and consider how to integrate them into their own library instruction procedures.
This post-evaluation for the hypothetical Professional Development Workshop prompts academic librarians to reflect on how they can change their understanding of librarianship to be more inclusive of learners with vision impairments. The evaluation also is a means to communicate what worked well in the workshop and what needs improvement.
