Thoughts on the concepts that I continually processed throughout the semester while assessing the various theories and pedagogical approaches conveyed through readings and class discussions.
This is my contribution to the encyclopedia articles that the class wrote on female rhetoricians. I focused on Carol Christ's Goddess Theology.
For my research project, I found articles from the medical community that offer nuanced views of the pro-ana community, positing these spaces as problematic sites promoting rhetorical agency and friendship-making amongst participants.
In my presentation, I reveal the ways in which participants of pro-ana communities may possibly have the chance to benefit from these problematic sites, since they offer spaces where discourse on taboo topics is allowed.
